Drivers Ed Course Details
TO OBTAIN AN INSTRUCTIONAL PERMIT AT THE DMV, YOU MUST SHOW PROOF OF COMPLETION OF DRIVER’S EDUCATION AND PROOF OF ENROLLMENT IN DRIVER’S TRAINING.
HOW THE DRIVER’S EDUCATION ONLINE COURSE WORKS
The course is divided into 10 units, with each unit containing its own quiz. You will have to answer all the questions correctly on each quiz in order to move onto the next unit. Once you have completed the units, there is a 30 question final you will need to take in order to receive your Certificate of Completion. A score of 80% on the final is passing. Once you have passed the final, a Certificate of Completion will be mailed to the address you have provided us. You can then use the proof of completion for the purposes obtaining behind the wheel training.

GETTING DISCONNECTED
While using the internet, users are frequently getting disconnected. Getting disconnected can be due to another call coming in via call waiting, a lost carrier connection, or your computer crashing. It is important to note that as you complete each of the required unit sections and unit tests, your progress will be recorded. If you are knocked off line prior to finishing a unit section or while taking a unit test, you will have to go back to that unit section or test and complete it. We cannot control you internet connection and are therefore not responsible for any issues regarding getting online or getting knocked off line. If these issues do occur, it is advised that you contact your internet service provider.
AOL
AOL has activity requirements while online. There is a chance that during some of the longer unit sections that AOL make take you off line. Therefore, try to remain interactive with AOL if you find you’re a taking a longer time than needed to finish a section.
“Steps to your Own Driver’s License”
1. Complete Drivers Education online. (Receive DL400B)
2. Bring below documents to the DMV to take written test.
i) Social Security Card
ii) Birth Certificate
iii) DL400B
iv) $33 Application Fee
v) Present 2 documents proving your California residency from the DMV’s list of approved documentation
3. Got your permit? Complete 6hrs Behind-The-Wheel Training and get the Yellow Certificate (DL400D).
4. After having instruction permit for 6 months, you are ready to take the driving test!
5. On your driving test day, Bring your:
i) Instruction permit with parent’s signature
ii) Insurance card
iii) Registration
iv) Certificate (DL400D).
